Functional Strength for Life Time Fitness

Functional training is not just about getting stronger or becoming more fit, it is about reducing injury and improving performance. It trains in progression and develops strength with the intent of improving athletic skills. This system encourages training for balance and the balancing of training. It is a continuum of exercises that teach athletes to handle their own body weight in all planes of movement. Emphasis is placed on attaining a balance between pushing and pulling strength and between knee-dominant hip extension (quadriceps and gluteals) and hip-dominant hip extension (hamstrings and gluteals).

CrossFit is a great example of functional fitness. What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is strength and conditioning systems built on constantly varied, if not randomized, functional movement executed at high intensity.

We look forward to working with the endurance athlete that is looking to take their training to the next level.
